The electronic version of Black & Bleu‚Ñ¢ is supplied as a StuffIt archive file. Most web browsers will extract the files automatically. If not, double click on the archive to extract the files.
If you have a CDROM version of Black & Bleu‚Ñ¢, it will contain the same files, but they will not be archived. You may use Black & Bleu‚Ñ¢ directly from the CDROM. For better performance, copy the contents of the Black & Bleu‚Ñ¢ to your hard drive.
 
The electronic version of Black & Bleu‚Ñ¢ is now designed to automatically configure itself to be either the PRO flavor or the STANDARD flavor depending on the license key you enter. In demo mode, you get to try the features of both.
After the files are extracted from the stuffit archive, The Black & Bleu™ application is called “Black & Bleu™ v3.0 (unlicensed)”. If you use it until the demo expires without licensing it, the name will change to “Black & Bleu™ v3.0 (expired)”. Once you enter the license key, the name will be set to either “Black & Bleu™/PRO v3.0” or “Black & Bleu™ v3.0” depending on the key you enter.

Beginning with the version 3.0 release of Black & Bleu™, Developers can add the Mac OS error database used by Black & Bleu™ to their own applications. Full instructions for doing just that can be found in the “Read about BleuRoseErrorLib” file inside the “For Developers” folder.
If you are not a Developer or have no interest in adding the Black & Bleu™ error database to your own applications, you may safely discard the “For Developers” folder.

A Screen resolution of 640 by 480 or larger and at least 256 colors is recommended for reading the Instruction Manual.
Entering the License Key
Double-click on the program Black & Bleu™ to begin using the program and to enter your license key. When the program opens, the first screen you will see is the License Validation window. You can either try the demo out or purchase the program at this point. The screen shown below shows you the options available. If you wish to try out the demo, click on the corresponding button. If you have purchased a license, you can enter the license key here to remove the limited use restriction. The name that you assigned as the “Owner” of your computer will be automatically filled into the field titled “Your Name.” Change it if you like.
 
The license key will resemble the one shown in the following illustration. Please note the upper and lowercase nature of the key. Also, be aware that the key consists of 5 groups of 4 LETTERS separated by dashes. If you don’t enter the key EXACTLY (including the dashes), it will not unlock the software. There are NO NUMBERS in the license key. The license key string has to be keyed in, character by character. It cannot be pasted in, even with a FKey for typing strings.
